Very Brief HSAFP History Lesson
The High School Alliance of Future Physicians (HSAFP) was founded in 2023 by Hari Ganesh. Hari’s goal was to help high school students find opportunities to learn more about becoming a physician. Today, Hari is a full-time student at the University of Southern California and, along with his other activities, still works part-time as a member of the HSAFP Executive Team.

In late 2024, HSAFP began creating new monthly curriculum for our first one hundred chapters, beginning with an inaugural webinar in October.
Today, HSAFP is a rapidly growing student-group organization that is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of medical leaders through a comprehensive curriculum and immersive hands-on experiences, sponsored by their industry-leading partners.
Along with virtual and hands-on medical experiences and workshops, the HSAFP Curriculum uniquely provides aspiring physicians with a deeper understanding of the skills and traits needed to be a successful medical professional through the AAMC Premed Competencies, which nearly all U.S. medical schools use to “evaluate applicants’ readiness for medical school” (AAMC, 2023).
We also provide resources, like the one below, to guidance counselors and teachers to ensure they are aware of how they may be able to help all of their students interested in becoming a physician.

HSAFP is incredibly proud of all chapters who are participating in the curriculum, creating their own unique activities and events, and partnering with local school and community organizations to do great things.
Keep up the wonderful work!
