Hi, my name is Samhitha. I go to Walnut Grove High School. I live in Prosper, Texas(a small suburb near Dallas and Fort Worth). Something I like to do in my free time is reading. I really like it because I get to experience things in the eyes of someone else and I get to understand people I’m not similar to. I’m interested in becoming a physician(specifically psychiatry) because I am really interested in how the brain works. I am also really interested in treating people with different mental disorders, which is the specific practice I want to be involved in. I would like to become a great psychiatrist where people can trust me to take care of them and connect with them.

Hi! I’m Tharika, and part of the HSAFP chapter in TMSA Apex, NC. I absolutely love reading books; you can never catch me without a book in hand. Reading is a form of leisure for me, but it’s also how I learn about new things, which I appreciate. Ever since I took my first biology class, I’ve always wanted to go into a career field heavily involving that. Seeing that I love helping people, I think that being a physician would be a viable option for me to pursue! 🙂

Hey! My name is Shrika, and I’m the VP of the HSAFP Chapter in Triangle Math and Science Academy in the 2024-2025 school year. I was born in Houston, a city in Texas, and now I live in Apex, North Carolina. One of my hobbies is doing gymnastics. When I want to clear my mind, I found out the best way for me to do that is to just start stretching my body and doing gymnastics. I’m interested in becoming a physician because I receive a sense of satisfaction when I am able to help or cure someone.. As I walk into any doctor’s office, I know that they are helping so many people which inspired me to make that my goal!

Hello everyone, My name is Lina Mahgoub, and I am from Raleigh, NC, but I grew up in Saudi Arabia before moving to America! My current hobbies include taking walks out in nature and reading books. I am interested in the medical field and also in being a physician because it aligns with my personality, values, and interests. I want to communicate with patients and help them improve themselves, and that can be done through talking with patients and giving them tips and advice, or through the prescription of medication. Being a physician means being able to build a relationship with your patients and desiring what is best for them, which is something that aligns very well with my values, personality, interests, and just me in general!

One of my favorite hobbies outside of school is playing tennis because it reinforces the importance of health in everyone’s life. Moreover, it helps me get away from the stresses of daily life and enjoy my time with friends and family, while simultaneously fostering a healthy competitive spirit. I’m most interested in becoming a physician because of the medical field’s impact on individual people’s lives and entire communities’ well-being. The field’s fulfilling nature and my longstanding interest in biology are the reasons why I strive to become a doctor.

Hello! My name is Leyla, I am from Northern Virginia and I currently live in California. One current hobby I have is traveling because I love experiencing new food, clothing, and places in general. I am interested in being a physician because I feel like I would really enjoy the job and working, which is very important to me because I do not like the thought of having a job that I genuinely do not like. Being a physician allows me to help people in need as well as meet other people who are like me, passionate about medicine. Right now, I am open to all fields of medicine, but leaning heavily toward OB/GYN because as a woman, I would like to help other women and improve how women are treated medically, especially women of color, which I am also.
