What High School Students Can Do Now To Prepare for Medical School

Course Description:

Join us virtually on Wednesday, October 30th at 5 PM PDT/8 PM EDT via Zoom for our 60-minute webinar, “What High School Students Can Do Now To Prepare for Medical School,” which will feature the following speakers:

  • Dr. Leila Amiri (the Associate Dean for Admissions at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine)
  • Tori Rogness (a fourth-year medical student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine)
  • Yazen Bakri (a graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago and current 2024–2025 medical school applicant)

Dr. Amiri will lead the first half of our webinar, and then the last half will be a Q&A session with all speakers.

Task for Chapter Secretaries (if you don’t have one, then the vice president should complete this task): Before Monday, October 28th at 11:59 PM, you will need to submit at least three questions (one for each presenter; see above) on the discussion forum called “October 2024 Curriculum: Webinar Questions” on the Connect website, under “Forums,” in the “General” discussion forum. We suggest having your chapter brainstorm some questions together.

Individual Registration: Every member should register individually for this event as soon as possible (see the announcement below), as we are trying to estimate how many will attend.

For those who cannot make the webinar: We will record the webinar and upload it here. Please come back to this course in November for the recording and more!
