What clinical opportunities are there for high school students?
Happy New Year, everyone!
In November, you participated in non-clinical volunteering to learn important interpersonal skills, demonstrate your commitment to becoming a healthcare professional, and serve your local community.
Now, this month, HSAFP members will learn more about clinical opportunities, both traditional and alternative, through our HSAFP activities:

- Our 1/21 webinar. See the recording within this course!
- Our Virtual Patient Interaction course with Dr. Blair Nelson
- MedSchoolCoach’s Free Virtual Shadowing
- And more!
We know it might be difficult to find clinical opportunities, depending on your age and area. Learn more in this course!

Note for Chapter Officers
It’s 2026, which means it’s time to make sure that you are turning in your assignments each month for the Chapter of the Year Awards!
Please read through the entirety of this course and draw on any and all of the activities provided in this course for your future HSAFP meetings and individual development (and remind your members of the activities that you may not get to during meetings but they can do on their own!).
In addition, you will submit the three “assignments” (curriculum, research journal, and Instagram post) that count toward the Chapter of the Year Awards (see the Chapter Officer Guide for more information). These submissions will always be at the end of the course each month. Let the HSAFP Executive Team know if you have questions!
