February is Heart Month, and while Valentine’s Day might be on most people’s minds, HSAFP is thinking about heart health education!
This month, all members can participate in a social media heart health education campaign and cardiologist virtual shadowing, while your Chapter Officers will decide which hands-on activities your chapter will host at your school or in your community.
We will also provide you with some accurate heart facts (symbolized with this anatomically correct heart:🫀), starting right now!
🫀 Fact #1: Primary care providers have the power to identify and treat cardiovascular risk factors, while cardiologists may perform emergency and special procedures or use non-surgical procedures to repair veins and arteries.
